Reservation Policy

Online reservation and ticket Note:

Thank you for using online reservation and ticket system (hereinafter referred to as "the System”) of the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum (hereinafter referred to as the "NPM Southern Branch”).
In order to protect the rights of visitors as well as the NPM Southern Branch, please read the following information related to ticket reservations and member service terms and conditions carefully (hereinafter referred to as "the Terms") prior to using the System.
If you click on "Agree" or other similar options, you are deemed to have been informed in advance and agreed to the Terms. If you cannot accept or disagree with the Terms, please do not use the System to reserve tickets.

 

 

Service details

  1. The System provides the following services: Online reservation, reservation status inquiry, reservation cancellation, visitor information, and ticket purchase (launch date to be announced), etc.
  2. The System is online 24-hours a day. Same day reservations are not available. If the Museum opening hours are changed due to special events, the NPM Southern Branch will make a separate announcement.
  3. In order to protect visitors' rights and maintain visiting quality, if any of the following conditions occur, the NPM Southern Branch will cancel the user's current reservation and limit/revoke his/her privilege of making further reservations. If the incident results in any loss or damage, the NPM Southern Branch reserves the right to claim compensation from the user:
    • In a reservation cycle(one month), if users do not show up without prior cancelation for 3 times or more, their reservation privilege will be suspended for 3 months.
    • If a user makes a large number of reservations and then arbitrarily cancel those reservations within a short amount of time, violating other visitors' rights, the user's reservation privilege will be canceled.
    • If a user attempts to make a profit by reselling reservation number,or by reselling tickets illegally at a higher price, the user's reservation privilege will be canceled.
    • Visitors who violate Museum Visiting Policy and ignore the advice or warnings from the Museum staff will be deprived of their reservation privilege.
  4. Online reservations are divided into individual and group reservations. The maximum number for making individual reservations is 9, while group reservations are available for up to 45 people. When making reservations, please select the date, time, number of visitors, and type. Please fill out your member profile truthfully and thoroughly.
  5. Groups of 10 or more are advised to purchase group admission tickets and must rent the audio guide equipment in accordance with the Museum policy. Group visitors must wear the audio guide units prior to entry. The audio guide units must be rent and returned as a group. They cannot be rent or returned individually.
  6. After successful reservation, the System will automatically generate your reservation order page, and send a confirmation email to you. Please keep the email as the information in the mail is needed for status inquiry or cancelation. If you provide a free or incorrect email address so that the mail is not delivered, the NPM Southern Branch will not provide additional notifications.
  7. The System offers reservation status inquiries and cancellation services. If you would like to change the visiting date, time, or number of visitors, you will have to cancel the original reservation first before making a new one. Starting from 12:00 Noon the day before your visit date, the system will not allow additional reservations for the next day, or modification/deletion of your existing reservation.
  8. In order to maintain the visiting quality and protect the visitors' rights, the NPM Southern Branch reserves the right not to allow visitors and vehicles that exceed the capacity of the Museum.
  9. Please read the [The National Palace Museum Visitors Notice] carefully before visiting the Museum, and inform your fellow visitors in the group about the policy. To maintain the visiting quality, please comply with NPM Southern Branch's visiting regulations. The Museum reserves the right not to allow the audience who do not follow the visiting policy to enter the Museum.
  10. The NPM Southern Branch reserves the right to modify the Terms at any time without prior notices. If you continue to make a reservation on this website, you are deemed to understand and agree to comply with the updated terms.

 

 

Instructions for Ticket Pick-up

  1. The system does not issue tickets. Please bring the confirmation email (includes reservation number), and present your ID to pick up the ticket(s) at the NPM Southern Branch.
  2. If your reservation includes concession tickets, free tickets, or group tickets, please pick up your tickets at the ticketing counter as automated ticketing machines do not provide such services. When picking up your tickets, please present a photo ID such as the citizen ID or disability card.
  3. Your reservation will be kept for 20 minutes after your designated time of entry. If you do not show up in 20 minutes, your reservation will be canceled. Please be aware of your visiting time and pick up your tickets in advance. If you miss your reserved time, please wait in line for the next available visiting time.
  4. The NPM Southern Branch covers a large area of land. It takes approximately 15-20 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the main entrance of the Museum. We suggest that you pick up your tickets at the ticketing counter in the main lobby 15 minutes in advance so that you can enter the museum on time.

 

 

The National Palace Museum Visitors Notice

  1. The following visitors notice has been put in place by the National Palace Museum (NPM) to preserve and maintain the valued artifacts and visiting quality inside the Main Building exhibition halls.
  2. Groups of 10 or above are required to purchase group tickets for the exhibitions. All members of the group are also required to rent an audio touring system (audio headset) and be equipped prior to entering. As museum crowd control is in place, visitors are recommended to book the audio touring systems in advance.
  3. Visitors are suggested to adjust their visiting routes when running into crowded areas.
  4. At times of natural disasters (such as typhoons and earthquakes) resulting in subsequent announcement of cancelled workday(s), the Museum will also be closed; when deemed necessary, the Museum will close sections of areas during exhibition changes, renovation, construction, or major incidents.
  5. Photographs and/or video recordings may be taken exhibition halls as long as no auxiliary equipment such as flash, light capturing equipment, tripods, and selfie sticks are used. For artifacts that visitors may not take photographs and/or video recordings of, prohibition signs will be in place.
    When taking photographs and/or video recordings, visitors may not impede traffic flow and/or violate the safety and/or viewing rights of other visitors.
  6. Visitors are required to abide by the regulations set forth in this notice, and follow the instructions given by the Museum staff. Any violation of the following rules will result in warnings, stopping of behavior/act, denial of admission, and/or dismissal from the museum.
    • Dangerous items, food, liquid, bottles, and cans are strictly prohibited inside the exhibition halls.
    • Guided tours without the audio touring system are strictly prohibited (unless authorized otherwise) to maintain the peace within the exhibition halls.
    • Visitors who fail to comply with Rule No. 5 when taking photographs and/or video recordings.
    • Visitors should keep their voices low and not talk loudly or cause nuisance to other visitors.
    • Visitors should not run, play, eat and drink, smoke, lie on seats, sit on the floor, take off their shoes, and littering.
    • Pets (except guide dogs), oversized items, and toys are prohibited inside the exhibition halls.
    • Visitors are asked to dress appropriately when entering into the Museum.
    • Backpacks, travel bags, and luggage (portable objects larger than A4 paper) must be deposited at the museum checkroom. The NPM is required to check the contents of these items when necessary.
    • Any other persons considered by the Museum to pose threats to artifact safety or order inside the museum are prohibited from entering the exhibition halls.
